February 24 from 2016 - 12: 30

The GDCU group in the Dénia City Council, with councilors Pepa Font and Miguel Llobell at the helm, will present in the ordinary plenary session of February, which will be held on Thursday 26, a motion for the City Council to support the proposal of the Valencia City Council of the candidacy of the Fallas as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

According Pepa Font from GDCU understand that the support of all stocks with failures in the Region is essential for candidacy to a successful conclusion, and Dénia should not be excluded. Meanwhile, says Miguel Llobell "from CD-CU we believe that the support of the Candidature of the Fallas by a city like Dénia, with almost 100 years of history of failures and with an award like that of the Creative City of Gastronomy by Unesco, can to be an important push to recognize everything that surrounds the world of faults, where not only monuments are part of the festival, but also clothing, goldsmiths, carpenters, pyrotechnics ... apart from the cultural manifestations that encourage the use of our language, encouraging criticism, llibrets, magazines or presentations ".

Both councilors agree that "The City Council of Dénia must be made available to the City Council of Valencia to collaborate in everything that surrounds the world of Fallas in Dénia and enrich the Project of the Candidature of the Fallas de Valencia for the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of UNESCO".
