With the aim of bringing the final version 2022 of the General Structural Plan closer to the public, that is, the strategic urban planning that will determine how the territory of Dénia will be occupied and how the uses in that territory will be coordinated in the coming years, the Dénia City Council has set up an exhibition with the most significant sections of the document that can be visited at the Casa de la Marquesa Valero de Palma until August 16.

The exhibition has been distributed in two rooms of the municipal facilities: in one you can see explanatory panels of the objectives and strategies of the General Plan and in the other, under the title "D'on venim?" The previous general urban plans of the city are exposed -from 1972, from the beginning of the 90s and from the beginning of the 2000s- so that the public can become aware of "the paradigm shift in planning, which has gone from the concept of territory as support for the activity of the current model, which considers it a value, a resource”, said the Councilor for Territory and Urban Quality, Maria Josep Ripoll.

Although the final version of the General Structural Plan can be consulted in its entirety on the website of the Dénia City Council, "we wanted to go a step further and that the exhibition of the planning not only remain in the one established by the regulation, but that it be made accessible and close to citizens”, adds Ripoll. The councilor acknowledges that a general plan "is a technical and complex document" and that talking about general plans in Dénia "generates a lot of disaffection among citizens". For this reason, in order to break this barrier and so that a larger number of people know about planning “that has a lot to do with the quality of life of citizens”, it was thought to make this exhibition with a selection of the most relevant items of the plan.

Grimalt has also underlined, "that it is a planning made from participation". To finish, the mayor congratulated the editorial team for the work done.
