The new tourist information point of the Plaza del Consell will cost Dénia 60.000 euros

06 June 2012 - 00: 00

The 2012 budgets already contemplate an item that the council is going to allocate to the fitting out of one of the buildings in the Plaza del Consell as a tourist information point. Specifically, and as reported by the socialist councilor Jordi Serra, 60.000 euros will be allocated, which will be entirely borne by the city council, since as it is an information point and not a tourist office, all the expense of adaptation and equipment of said point will run in charge of the municipal coffers and not those of the Valencian Tourism Agency.

Serra recalls that must be added to that investment the monthly 3.500 euros (42.000 euros per year) that the city pays rent of premises where the tourist office on the street Manuel Lattur is located.

The Socialists criticize that the Councilor for Tourism, Pepa Font, has not reported the date of putting into operation the new office.

Motion to develop a Strategic Plan of the Tourism Sector

Óscar Mengual, socialist councilor who participates in the Tourism Council, has informed that his group will present a motion in the next plenary session so that the Department of Tourism can proceed to the drafting of a Strategic Plan for the Tourism Sector of Dénia plurianual that has the participation of all the social and economic agents involved, as well as the participation of citizens at the individual level, by opening a suggestion box.
