The new agreement between Baleària and the Pilota Valenciana Foundation will eliminate the plastics of the competition
Baleària and the Fundació de la Pilota Valenciana have renewed their annual agreement on Thursday through which the shipping company collaborates in the promotion of indigenous sports. As a novelty, the incorporation of sustainable management and the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations (SDG) stands out when organizing tournaments and sports championships.
The president of Baleària, Adolfo Utor, and José María Cataluña, vice president of the Valencian Pilot, have signed the new document at the offices of the Baleària Port maritime station in Dénia.
The shipping company and the Fundació Baleària, an organization that is responsible for managing agreements in favor of the sustainable development of the territories in which the company operates, undertake to help the sports entity to achieve such responsible management. And this fact will materialize, for example, eliminating the plastic of events and competitions.
The first tournament in which this will be effective will be the 'Individual Campionat', the queen of this sport, which brings the best player of the year. Fundació Baleària will be in charge of, among other things, providing water bottles packaged in cardboard briks and glasses made of biodegradable corn fiber.
For its part, the Fundació de la Pilota undertakes to promote the Baleària brand in the most important championships it organizes, which are held throughout the Valencian territory. These are events that are regaining their importance and recognition in recent years.
