Dénia is the third favorite destination in Spain for those who long to be able to travel

11 March 2021 - 11: 10

We have had to face the hard blow of the pandemic by giving up our way of life in order to avoid a greater evil. Among this, there are the limitations of movement between municipalities, communities and countries (also at night even between the streets of localities). Traveling has become one of the most missed activities, as many trips have been pending due to the current health crisis.

According to a recent survey carried out for the hosting company Airbnb in Spain, almost half (46%) of Spanish adults say that traveling was one of the activities they missed the most during the pandemic, rather than going to bars for a drink. (22%) or go to restaurants (21%).

This is logical that it affects those destinations that depend so much on tourists, as is the case of the main coastal municipalities of the Marina Alta. It is true that Dénia enjoyed a much more successful summer than expected, but did not manage to stop the fall of visitors during the following big bridges due to mobility restrictions.

However, this is expected to return to normal once the but part of the pandemic is over. Many already mentally organize their suitcases dreaming of being reunited with Dénia, as shown by the same platform that has made public the destinations most guarded by the Spanish. In third place, only behind Conil de la Frontera and Chiclana de la Frontera, is the capital of the Marina Alta, which is followed by Xàbia in fourth place. Calp also appears in this top 10 in seventh place, so the region can breathe easy knowing that it has not been forgotten and that it continues to be one of the favorite destinations for national tourists.
