Compromís has presented in the sociocultural commission of the City Council of Dénia a motion to urge the General Directorate of Professional Training of the Ministry of Education to carry out a feasibility study for the integration of professional dance teachings in the new Conservatory of Music Tenor Cortis , which will be included within the Edifying Plan; as well as that, if feasible, the necessary resources and facilities are enabled to study them.
As detailed by the spokesperson for Compromís, Rafa Carrió, Dénia has a cultural tradition closely linked to dance, as well as music, with private entities dedicated to its promotion and dissemination, very present in the cultural and festive offer of the town and with a fundamental role guiding and preparing access to professional and higher education.
But, as stated in the motion, “the Marina Alta lacks a place with regulated studies and dance professionals where boys and girls could officially complete their training without having to travel to other municipalities such as Alcoy, València or Alicante to carry them out ”.
Given that the Department of Education has already agreed with the Dénia City Council that it will include the adaptation of the Tenor Cortis Music Conservatory within the Edifying Plan, "we think it would be a good opportunity to take advantage of the occasion to implement this degree, both for the region and for people who want to become professional in dance ", and adds:" in addition to adding value to the university offer and professional training that is being projected for Dénia from the Ministry ".
