Baleària expands daily high-speed connections to the Balearic Islands from Dénia with a new ship

16 June 2021 - 13: 16

Baleària will have three fast ferries between the port of Dénia and the Balearic Islands from tomorrow to increase the offer of places and schedules for the summer season, and will reinforce connections at the weekend. Specifically, the shipping company will have sixteen weekly departures to Ibiza, ten to Mallorca and another ten to Formentera from the Dianense port.

For this, the company adds the Avemar Dos to the Ramon Llull and the Eleanor Roosevelt, which were already operating in the Dianense dock. Baleària thus shows its firm commitment to high speed on routes from Dénia, and also expands the offer of seats by more than 850 passengers. Likewise, it should be noted that the schedules and the short duration of the journeys (about two hours) allow us to offer the day trip to both Formentera and Ibiza.

These three vessels are among the most sustainable in the fleet: the Eleanor Roosevelt, Baleària's latest acquisition, is the first fast ferry with engines powered by natural gas, a fuel that reduces CO2 emissions by more than 30% and NOx by more than 80% in addition to eliminating emissions harmful to health. And the other two have recently been remotorized to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. In the case of the Avemar Dos, the operation ended just over a month ago and its new engines emit 8% less CO2 and 33% less NOx.

All of them offer standard and superior accommodation, and have different services such as a cafeteria on board, as well as a terrace. In the case of the Ramon Llull and the Eleanor Roosevelt, these are smart ships that have technological improvements such as video surveillance of pets through the smart phone, or the on-demand digital entertainment platform, with a wide range of content to which can be accessed from mobile.

Departures by 'ferry' from Valencia

On the other hand, the shipping company also has ferry connections from the port of Valencia to the archipelago. Specifically, it has two daily departures to Palma and up to two to Ibiza depending on the day of the week.

It should be remembered that Baleària has adapted the security protocols to the current context and has renewed the Global Safe Site seal by Bureau Veritas for the third time. The shipping company has established a 10% reduction in capacity in all its vessels, an extra measure that goes beyond those established by the health authorities. To promote social distance, Baleària continues to promote online booking and billing. In addition to the mandatory use of the mask on board, it provides hydroalcoholic gel and maintains a specific cleaning plan, with certified viricidal products and disinfectants. Finally, the shipping company checks the health of the crew on a daily basis, and that all its employees have received specific training on the action protocols if a possible case is detected.
