This will be the fourth edition of the 'Sculptures facing the sea' contest. An edition marked by the nine new artists who have joined the exhibition installed in the Ribera Pier of the Sports and Tourist Port Marina Dénia.
The captain-director of Marina Dénia, Gabriel Martínez, wanted to thank the support of the Dénia City Council in the presentation they made this morning. "There is a set of 16 works and we have come this far thanks to the help of many people, in addition to the mayor, the sculptor Toni Marí, the master Joan Castejón and Modesto Marí and Nicolás Merle, who are all part of the jury of this contest ”, added Martinez.
The sculptures belong to various artists both from the region and from other parts of Spain. The president of the jury, Toni Marí, has assured that “we all do our bit so that this exhibition has been consolidated. Art is something intrinsic in the human being and is a reflection of society. If there is a good deed here, it is that society works better”. For his part, Joan Castejón, pointed out that "it is important to bear in mind that this exhibition is growing and it is an initiative that must be supported".
For his part, Modesto Marí, has highlighted: "It is important that it expands and to thank the artists who bring their work here every year." Nicolás Merle also wanted to thank everyone for “convening us again, for me it is always a joy to participate again in this public-private collaboration. I wish these events would be repeated in different areas.”
The Mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, has congratulated Marina Dénia since “it contributes to enriching the tourist offer of our city and supporting artists. We will continue collaborating so that this initiative continues, in this very special environment with the Montgo and the sea in the background.
