The Mostra de Teatre returns to celebrate the 30th anniversary, recovering the usual format of the proposal, which in 2020 had to be reduced and adapted to the circumstances derived from the pandemic. From June 3 to 12, the 30th 'Ciutat de Dénia' Theater Show and 4th International Theater Show - Marina Alta will bring a total of six companies from the three categories of the event to the stage of the Dénia Social Center: Marina Alta-Marina Baixa-la Safor, national and international.
The prizes that will be awarded by an expert jury are: Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Direction, Award for the use of Valencian and two special mentions. In addition, the traditional Audience Award for the work most voted for by viewers is renamed 'Vicent Balaguer', in tribute to the writer and fan of Denier theater who died two years ago. "Dedicating this award to Vicent makes us theater people very excited, because of the appreciation we shared for the stages and the admiration for the character," highlighted the director of the Municipal Theater School, Mario Osmar Passero, who has also He assured that he felt "excited to be able to return to the performing arts" after the blow that the pandemic has dealt to the sector.
The councilman of Youth, Juan Sapena, has pointed out that the recovery of the usual format of the exhibition, "applying the pertinent measures in the Social Center, with capacity reduced to 75%, according to current regulations", is one more of the activities that, little by little, are recovering in-person, "like the Juventud Dénia summer workshops."
As is tradition, the proceeds from the Theater Show will go to an association in the city: in this edition, to ADHAMA Asociación TDAH Marina Alta.
Tickets for each show are priced at € 5 and can be purchased in advance from the lottery and stationery administration on Calle de la Estrella, 1.
