The 9th edition of the Roscón de Reyes Race Marina Dénia It will be held on January 2, the first Sunday of the new year 2022. “This is a very nice test and one that has been widely accepted by the public. We hope that, like every year, it will be fun and we are delighted to be able to do it again. We want to ask everyone to have fun in a safe environment and outdoors, but to continue to be cautious due to the situation we are still in," says Gabriel Martínez, director of Marina Dénia.
The last time this race was held, in the 2019 edition, a new category was created, Can Run, which offered the possibility that participants could run with their dog. "Two years ago we included as a novelty the possibility of running with the dog and it got out of hand," says Edu Alberola, from the Rem Marina Dénia Club. This year the participation has been expanded to 500 people.
The test will begin at 11 am and from 10 am the numbers will be delivered. The first round is made from Marina Dénia to the roundabout at the entrance to the port, to then go up the promenade of the breakwater. The second round is reached until the Marineta Casiana. In total they run five kilometers. Registrations are now open, through www.conxip.com and they have a cost of seven euros.
The categories are: Infant, Youth, Senior and Veterans, male and female and Can Run. The three winners in each category will be awarded a roscón de reyes. And all participants will be given a bottle of wine, a t-shirt and water. There will also be a special award for the best costume and the largest club.
