[VIDEOS] Midwives and moms celebrate the Day of Nursing with a choreography

The midwives of the Department of Health of Dénia celebrated the Day of Nursing in Baleària Port, with the women attached to the preparation workshops for childbirth, upbringing and breastfeeding.

They all sang a song, previously agreed upon, to later become part of a choreography of belly dancing.

After the playful start, the day gave way to a talk at the Casa de la Paraula about Care during childbirth for a positive delivery experience. Recommendations of the World Health Organization, WHO.

Conference on the role of nursing

Within the framework of the International Day of Nursing, the Department of Health of Dénia has organized a day in which the role of Nursing in the DSD has been addressed. The meeting was opened by the DSD Managing Director, Luis Carretero; the Director of Care and Services of the DSD, Alfredo Moreno and the Deputy of Nursing of the Unit of the Commissioner, Rosa Ferrándiz.

The inaugural lecture was given by Montserrat Sánchez, Professor of Ethics, Legislation and Administration of the School of Nursing of the University Hospital La Fe of Valencia, who addressed the issue of Visibility of Nursing.

For her part, Mª Carmen Ros, nurse of the DSD, spoke about the figure of Florence Nightingale, considered the precursor of modern professional nursing and creator of the first conceptual model of nursing.

The central conferences of the day were dedicated to the different competencies in care that are offered in the Marina Alta.

Elvira Gras, Community Occupational Health Nurse, at the Public Health Center of Dénia, highlighted the importance of the work that is being carried out in terms of Health Promotion and Collective Health.

La Nursery based on evidence was the topic on which the talk of Teresa Prats, Nurse in Preventive Medicine and Patient Safety in the DSD. His speech was followed by that of Emilia Casanova, General Supervisor of HACLE de la Pedrera, who addressed the role of Nursing in the Chronic and Long Stay Hospital of Dénia.

On the other hand, Isabel Erades, Diagnostic Supervisor for the Image of DSD and Natalia García, School Nurse, were the last to take the floor. The first dealt with aspects related to ultrasound in vascular accesses, while the last reported her professional experience in the Public School of Special Education, Raquel Payà.
