They value "positively" the beach service during the summer 2020

The council of beaches of the City Council of Dénia, together with the Dénia Red Cross, have made a balance of the beach service during the summer of 2020. An assessment "positive" As indicated by the councilor for beaches, Pepe Doménech, and those responsible for the Red Cross, despite having a complicated surveillance campaign due to the situation due to the coronavirus pandemic.

From the Red Cross they have highlighted the great work carried out by the controllers, "that have facilitated that the hygienic-sanitary measures were fulfilled".

The surveillance and first aid campaign, which has been active from June 20 to September 27, has paid maximum attention to bathers with all the protection material in addition to improving the service by extending the surveillance hours by 1 hour during the months of July and August, being the weeks of high season. Specifically, the Dénia Red Cross staff watched, for 9 hours in a row (from 11 to 20 hours), for the safety of the bathers, a service, which, as indicated by the councilor, is maintained for next year.

For his part, the mayor responsible for the beach area has highlighted the work carried out in the sand screening in which he has had new machinery and more information panels. Doménech has indicated that the beaches of Dénia have had a total of 23 access points and information has been provided, in real time, on a daily basis, on the state of the beaches in terms of capacity limitation and the sea, "In addition, until October 1, the accesses to the beaches, wastebaskets and other items have been disinfected twice a day."

The mayor has clarified that "Many of the bathing areas that in previous years barely had bathers, this summer have had more affluence, which shows the responsible attitude of people avoiding crowds". Pepe Doménech has highlighted that, in general, "People have been quite responsible and have respected distances, being the beaches of Les Rotes, Marineta Cassiana and Raset, which have concentrated a greater number of people".

Improvements and investments

The mayor responsible for beaches has remarked that during the summer 2020, the Department of Beaches has also created new services and has improved others. For example, a smoke-free beach has been launched in Marge Roig and a new bio-healthy park has been created on the beach of les bovetes, where the area reserved for accessible beach has also been expanded.

Among the new investments in the area, the councilor has listed the installation of new information panels on the beaches with Blue flag and the placement of 15 new information panels on the types of beach and the behaviors allowed or prohibited in each one. For this action, which will take place in November, a grant of 10.500 euros has been obtained from Turismo Comunidad Valenciana.

Likewise, during this month of October, work will be done on signaling and marking the dunes of Las Albaranes beach where the blackwood corriolet.

For next summer, Doménech has announced that a new assisted bathing point will be created on the Marines beach, in addition to the extension of the hours of the surveillance and first aid service.

    What about the beach bars in the Albaranas area. Two years in a row without installing. Are there any particular interests
    so that they do not wear? The regulars in this area miss it.
