Thanks to this First Prize to CA UNED Dénia, a grant of € 4.000 is granted for his work “Exploring Equality with COE and DUCA” (provisional resolution published in the BIC of UNED Nº3).
The I UNED ODS Prize at the University aims to distinguish and reward those projects with a gender perspective and whose conclusion gives rise to a proposal of Good Practices, suitable for implementation in the UNED and whose purpose is the achievement, during this year, of the ODS 5 at the UNED.
SDG 5 is the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal No. 5, on Gender Equality, which reads: “Ending all forms of discrimination against women and girls is not only a basic human right, but it is also crucial for sustainable development. It has been proven time and again that empowering women and girls has a multiplier effect and helps to promote economic growth and development worldwide. ”
The same objective offers in figures the situation of discrimination that women still suffer today and that it is essential to fight through education.
Exploring Equality with COE and DUCA It is a coeducational project carried out entirely by the multidisciplinary team of the Observatory of Equality of the CA to the UNED of Denia, in which the vision of a girl and a boy free of gender stereotypes (COE and DUCA) is used to bring current themes to children's and primary classrooms that allow us to reflect on the nature and construction of gender identity, as well as dismantle sexist stereotypes that we can find in toys, in the media, in the attitudes or activities of our daily lives, to break the labels assigned to us by the simple fact of being girls or boys.
