About fifteen users participate in the workshops TAPIS La Pedrera de Dénia

A total of 15 people, between 16 and 65 years, registered in Dénia, have enjoyed during 2017 the activities of the TAPIS La Pedrera, a center of municipal ownership destined to the organization of activities of preventive support to the marginalization and activities of character rehabilitation and psychosocial support for people with chronic mental illness.

Among its benefits, TAPIS offers occupational activities, rehabilitation and training for autonomy, but also cultural and recreational activities, coexistence, cooperation and self-help, psychosocial support, family counseling and health promotion. All of this, from Monday to Friday, in 9.15 hours at 13.30 hours, in addition to the psychomotor skills sessions for users that take place in the afternoon session on a monthly basis.

It should be noted that the activities carried out are possible thanks to associations such as AMADEM or Condemned to Curb, something essential for the proper functioning of the center, as indicated by the councilor of TAPIS, Àlex Rodenkirchen.

At 2017, craft workshops were programmed; of kitchen; of computer science; of cognitive rehabilitation, with the support of a psychologist from the AMADEM association; of board games; of chikung, taught by a volunteer; Reading; of plastic and mandalas and also of origami, this one of monthly character and with the support of a volunteer. All these activities, together with basic academic knowledge classes and therapeutic group meetings, in which the Mental Health Unit collaborates, are carried out in the center itself.

Likewise, users hold workshops outside the center, such as gardening and gardening in the urban gardens of Torrecremada, with the support of an AMADEM educator, sports and physical maintenance, taught by a Physical Education teacher hired by the Facing the curb association, for those who move to the municipal sports center, and the aforementioned Psychomotor Workshop, held at the IES Maria Ibars.
