Triumphs for the senior boys of Dénia Basketball and defeat for the girls

09 2019 April - 09: 14

Little by little the competition teams of the Dénia Básquet they are reaching the final stage of the competitions. In this week, as regards the Senior category, it was good for the boys with victories in Autonomic and Zonal, while the girls fell defeated in the regional category.

The autonomic senior won his visit to the V74-Villena track by 68 to 74. The boys led by Bernardo Sanz took the game very seriously from the beginning to the end. They exposed on the playing field a magnificent collective game, with defensive intensity, so they printed a high rhythm of game that allowed them to play one on one to an experienced local team. In the dianenses ranks, the oldest player on track only has 20 years. This was joined by the reinforcement of four junior players.

The match had no owner until reaching its last minute, when Dénia Básquet reached the biggest difference registered between both teams until that moment, eight points. An income that could maintain despite the success from the triple of the locals in their latest attacks.

Highlight the debut of Junior Raúl Fornes with the senior team, having a good performance along with the rest of the team.

The senior men's team of Primera Zonal won in the clash played in the Joan Fuster pavilion from Dénia, to CB Canals by 74 to 66. The equalizer was present for much of the first half, where there was much alternation in the scoreboard. The defenses did not finish to adjust and the shock became an exchange of baskets.

In the second half, Dénia Básquet opted for a change in the defensive layout. This, coupled with the greater success in the launch from beyond the 6,75, allowed the dianenses to take a small advantage to play with more slack the final minutes.

This victory won in his last home match ensures in a mathematical way the fifth position in the standings for the Zonal of the Dénia Básquet.

Defeat for the girls in Benifaió

The senior girls returned from Benifaió with a defeat by 68 to 50 in an irregular match by the girls led by Ferrán García. I miss more regularity, since there were minutes in which the game was excellent, but others where the percentages were very bad. The dianenses showed their best face with an intense, fast and effective game, but they could not keep it. They went down, having some gaps in their game, especially in defense, which their rival knew how to take advantage of.

Despite everything, the team continues to show a clear improvement in the game that, although it does not have the prize of victory, does deserve the applause of those who follow their progress and know the difficulty with which this second phase of the competition. There remain two meetings to conclude, both scheduled in this last week of competition.
