Three hundred students will discover the possibilities of the port of Dénia

The president of the Consultative Port Board, Gabriel Martínez and the coordinator of the project, Lois Zonneveld, have presented this morning the educational project "Get to know the Port of Dénia". "We have to thank the City Council of Dénia and all the colleagues of the Consultative Port Board who collaborate with this project", commented Gabriel Martínez.

In this second edition, in addition to being able to visit each of the dealerships, students will be able to sail with the Mundo Marino catamaran. The route will be the same as last year and they will get to know the tourist part of Marina Dénia, the sports aspect of the Dénia Yacht Club, the dry marina of Náutica Noguera, in the Fishermen's Guild there will be a talk by Toni Martínez, on the importance of fishermen, in Marina El Portet there will be a practice on what a entry of a ship to the port, they will know the facilities of Balearia and in Varadero Port Dénia the maintenance functions of the boats. “The Port of Dénia is a very good example for students as it has all the facilities that a port needs”, assured Lois Zonneveld.

In this edition, which will take place from Monday 9 to Friday 13 May, more than 300 students from ESO, Vocational Training and special educational units from five schools in Dénia will participate: Sorts de Mar, Alfa and Omega, Paidos, Chabas and Carmelitas. The purpose of this project is for young people to get to know the Port of Dénia, as well as the opportunities and job opportunities it has. "Last year all the boys and girls asked to get on a boat and thanks to the collaboration of Mundo Marino we are going to make a tour of the visits on board so that they can see how a skipper works". As last year, each student will be given a catalog with information on all the companies and entities that make up the Port of Dénia.

    “The Port of Dénia is a very good example for the students since it has all the facilities that a port needs”….The Port of Denia is a good example for them to learn how a Port is not developed nor all the employment and economic opportunities that It has being controlled and bounded by four caciques. That is what they have to learn.
