Toni Gil, of the Real Club Náutico Dénia, winner of the 1ª Cup of Spain Kayak de Mar in K1 cadet

The last 29 day of March, the Real Club Nautico Denia moved with 11 paddlers to the town of Cartagena to play the first of the cups of Spain national calendar. Toni Gil was the winner in the cadet category. The paddler, who competed on Saturday at K1, made a very good start that gave him a position at the start with the youth. He continued in that position throughout the test and ended up getting the gold after going through 8.500m.

The day of Saturday was marked by the weather conditions, with the wind as the protagonist in the first of the tests. The dianense club pal Marcos Ortega got a good start, thanks to which he finished the competition in the fifth position of the K1 cadets. Miguel Louwagie obtained the sixth place and Jerónimo Costa, who disputed his first test as a cadet, the twelfth position.

Maik Dimitrov, palista of Real Club Náutico Dénia, achieved the sixth place in the K1 youth category. Juan Carlos Pérez Nadal he obtained the 6ª position in his category, due to the fact that he suffered an acromial clavicular inflammation that prevented him from performing the test in good conditions.

On Sunday the competition was held in K2. Toni Gil and Miguel Louwagie obtained the bronze medal to the sprint with the second boat, while Marcos Ortega and Jerónimo Costa obtained the fourth position. Niki Radoslavov and Noé Blanchard were in sixth place, while Pablo Orgiler and Miguel Abarca took seventh place. Very good results for the Dianense club that competed on Sunday with incessant rains and high winds.

The Real Club Náutico Dénia finished the weekend with the 8º position in the general classification of clubs, of a total of 27. Jaime Portolés, President of the RCND, has congratulated the dianenses paddlers and encourages them to continue with the great results in the next competitions.
