Of the six positive cases in the Marina Alta in COVID-19, four of them are recovering at home with mild symptoms. However, the other two are hospitalized, one of them admitted to the ICU.
The Healthcare Director of the Dénia Health Department, Dr. Pedro Clemente, has defined the situation of the hospital of "contained calm", due to the small number of cases, although in anticipation of a possible worsening that has not yet occurred. Clemente asks residents to follow the recommendations of the Generalitat and the Ministry of Health to prevent the virus from spreading.
"We have established a series of measures in anticipation that it may worsen rapidly according to what has happened in other regions", says Clemente, that is why the traffic of people in the center has been reduced.
DSD activates its Coronavirus Contingency Plan
The Dénia Health Department –DSD- has launched this Monday its Coronavirus Contingency Plan. The plan contemplates various healthcare scenarios and a series of measures aimed at reinforcing the services and the safety of patients and professionals.
In the case of External Consultations of Primary Care and Hospital, we are contacting the aforementioned patients to transfer said assistance to non-contact whenever possible. Specific telephones have also been set up to answer questions about appointments on the Marina Salud website. Regarding surgical activity, this is limited to interventions considered medically priority.
In the Emergency Services, both in the Hospital and in Primary Care, a differentiated patient circuit has been set up to attend to suspected pathologies caused by COVID-19. In addition, differentiated physical spaces have been enabled in hospitalization and in other healthcare areas.
A Home Program has also been launched, through which the evolution of patients diagnosed with the coronavirus is monitored by telephone.
As for the infrastructures, specific areas of the hospital have been enabled to expand the healthcare space if necessary.
In addition, the Contingency Plan prohibits visits to admitted and accompanying patients for greater safety of patients and professionals.
