The Association of Environmental and Consumer Education (ADEAC) has released the list of beaches awarded with Blue flag in 2019, with good news for Dénia. Six blue flags will wave this year in the capital of the region, two more than in 2018.
This year, the beaches of Les Deveses y Marineta Cassiana join BovetesMarines Molins y Punta del Raset. In addition, we must add the blue flags awarded to the Real Club Náutico de Dénia and the Puerto Deportivo Marina de Denia.
The blue flag is an annual award and a system of environmental quality certification developed by FEE (Foundation Forum Environmental Education, represented in Spain by the ADEAC), which from 1987 promotes and rewards the participation in voluntary environmental initiatives of the municipal authorities, the local and visitor population and the agents of the tourism sector.
The following criteria are grouped into four areas: quality of bathing waters, information and environmental education, environmental management and security, services and facilities.
