A step will be created that allows Pou students to reach their playground

06 September 2019 - 14: 05

The City Council of Dénia has announced the construction of a crosswalk that allows students to come to the CEIP Pou de la Muntanya playground. It is one of the measures carried out to normalize the first trimester, during which the students will occupy a provisional center until the completion of the works of their school.

The CEIP Pou de la Muntanya starts the course in the building of the former Official School of Languages, on the corner of Joan Fuster Avenue and Pedreguer Street. It does so while the works are finished in its center, which are scheduled to end in December.

Among the many changes to adapt to, the biggest headache was where to recess and how to move the children there. The result? The Joan Fuster pavilion, located a few meters away, will host the 300 students. Now, this implies crossing the wide avenue of 4 lanes, which, as it is now raised, forces them to cross 5 zebra crossings until they reach the destination.

Therefore, Vicent Grimalt has announced the creation of a provisional crosswalk in front of the center entrance, to facilitate supervised travel and avoid what it considers to be "a dangerous journey". He has taken the opportunity to thank Railways, which have not put any problem, since this temporary step will invade the road.
