Rejection in Dénia of the 10,5% rise in the water rate

November 17 from 2022 - 08: 57

The rise in the energy bill has led to an increase in the operating costs of the water supply contract. For this reason, the concessionary company in terms of Aguas de Dénia, Aqualia, has requested an increase in the drinking water rate by 10,5% to face the 12,8% increase that has experienced 'Consumer Price Index (IPC) since August 2019.

The Water Council, unanimously, has not accepted the rate increase. Yes, it has agreed, again unanimously, that the operating deficit for 2022 will be covered with the own funds of the Dénia water company (composed of the City Council and the concession company). The estimated budget to prevent the overcharge from being reached by users will be 428.706 euros. This will be divided into two installments: the first will be made in November with an amount of 350.000 euros; the next one will take place in January 2023, once the total amount of the 2022 energy overcharge is known.

But, what a tough face to want to raise the water that barbaric. They already charge very expensive.

  2. Pablo says:

It is shameful that this company proposes to increase the water, when in Denia we have one of the most expensive bills in Spain
