Quico Catalán was commissioned to light the cauldron of the XIII Olympic Mini Jocs

For a few hours the Olympic flame crowns the cauldron installed next to the athletics track of the Dénia municipal sports center. The person in charge of turning it on was Quico Catalán, the president of Levante UD., Who toured the 400 meters of the athletics track to reach the foot of the cauldron, where he proceeded with the torch to its ignition.

The ceremony gathered many athletes' relatives in the sports hall, as well as mayors and sports councilors from the participating delegations. The event began with the parade of a group of volunteers who carried the flag of the Olympic rings. After them, a representation of the young musicians of the Musical Group of Dénia.

One by one the delegations participating in this edition paraded and received the applause of the public. Amended the act a group of Hip Hop de Pedreguer. The present authorities came down from the box to the track, where they heard the Olympic oath taken by one of the athletes of the competition, a referee and a coach. Everyone promised fair play and maximum sportsmanship and companionship.

The Mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, gave his welcome speech to all those present and made them see the importance of sport in our society and in the region of the Marina Alta, where this competition is a sign of backbone.
