A city like Dénia, open to the sea and with more than 20 kilometers of coastline, as well as a tourist port of notable importance on the Mediterranean coast, is in a certain way "obliged" to have a promenade that serves as a showcase to the world.
Curiously, this much-desired promenade did not arrive in Dénia until 2013, when the Generalitat created a promenade that connects the restaurant area of El Raset with the one known as "El Portet."
Since the new Dénia promenade was inaugurated, it has become a must-see place for walks, since from there you can get a beautiful panoramic view of the city seen from the sea, with the Dénia Castle as a guardian.
New premises are currently being built that will make the new promenade of Dénia (Alicante) a referential place of dianense leisure. Until then we can enjoy Zensa Lounge, several businesses related to the sea and the rental of boats and the offer of leisure and restoration of the Maritime station City, managed by Balearia and whose ground floor with access to the terrace, there are several restaurants.
Ride Raset
Lapsing parallel to the new promenade, but without being a promenade as such, known as Paseo del Raset, an area which is dominated by restaurants of all kinds, mostly pizza and rice mills, where taste is the best local cuisine.
Also in the Paseo del Raset we can find souvenir shops and beach fashion as well as accessories focused summer visitors enjoying the summer Dénia.
Extension of the promenade
Throughout the year 2015 the seafront of the city of Denia will change, and currently is working on creating a new promenade that elapses way parallel port.
Work began in late 2014 in the Plaza de Cholet, where the ride ends Raset, and will continue until the former location of the passenger station of Balearia, demolished in 2014 and now converted into a car park.
Is expected in the summer of 2015 have completed work on the new promenade, which will make the area a place where they can live bicycles and pedestrians with greenery, places to rest and beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea from enjoying the Dénia city.
