Opinion Jose Luis García: "Lamentable state of the beach Punta de Els Molins"

August 18 from 2017 - 05: 00

Dear friends,

I am going to your website to comment on the unfortunate state of the beaches of Dénia this August and in particular in the area of the tip of the Molins After the storm last week. After going to the City of Denia in writing twice to express this problem I have not gotten any response.

Complained our current mayor, Mr. Vicente Grimalt along with Mrs. Cristina Morena of the state of the beaches of Denia in an article published on his website on July 7 of 2014. "We can not sell Dénia as a tourist city when one of our biggest attractions, such as beaches, are in a sorry state".

I invite you to take a walk in the Punta dels Molins Where you can see the unfortunate state of putrefaction and odors that we have on the beach despite what these days was reported by press and radio that the beach had been restored and algae had been eliminated.

It is true that an area of this beach has been partially restored these days, but just across the pier in front of the La Cova del Mero Restaurant And the surrounding urbanizations for more than a week have not cleared the huge accumulations of algae.

This is an area rich in Poseidonias and therefore requires more maintenance, but this year in August, the month of more influx of people, have hardly passed the machines once in this area that told them to remove the algae.

I have an apartment in property in Dénia more than 25 years in front of this area and I assure you that the beach has not been so poorly maintained ever. In addition to the algae, as a consequence not of this but of the previous great spring season in which they were caused great damages, the sand of this zone that always had been quite acceptable, today is a set of chinarros reason why to walk barefoot is done Difficult and nothing has been done to fix this problem.

The dunes that artificially created a few years ago (at least 25 years ago did not exist, I have photos that prove it) and supposedly protect us, are nowadays a place of accumulation of garbage for which cleaning employees never deign to Pass, since through the bushes you have to walk and collect the trash by hand.

It seems that the residents of this area of Marines, already 5 km from the town we are only neighbors to pay taxes but not to take care of our swimming area.

Please let someone report what is happening this summer, which is nothing other than the lack of means of beach cleaning or poor management of the same, to see if this is corrected the problem.

It is very easy to criticize when one is not mayor, but once in the armchair it is done to make the same photo that before criticized, but now everything is forgotten.

A greeting.

José Luis García

    Hello,

I just purchased an apartment on the beach of Los Molinos, and I join your complaint to ask the city council for more cleaning and care of the environment, especially the beaches.
In 2017 I have visited Denia several times since August and the beach was in a sorry condition. I hope that the mayor and those responsible for preserving this municipality do everything possible to improve the situation during this year

  2. Neighbor Deveses says:

Totally agree with all the comments, Denia is left in the hands of the rulers who do nothing other than announce projects and almost none are carried out, at least I have been with property on Deveses beach for 16 years and it is a shame as It is, about this year 2017 has been the worst of all! We have hardly been without a beach and only a footbath at the entrance for the surf part ………… .where this has been seen, they only show off the flags blue that the beaches of Denia have, which by the way last year already lost some and this 2018 surely some more beaches will be left behind ………. because of the great neglect that all politicians have in general. Political Gentlemen, stop demagoguery and so much RED PRAWN, that if you do nothing for the City of Denia, in the end you will have to eat the prawn yourself. Denia receives more tourists every year and there is no INFRASTRUCTURE in conditions for such a need …………. I hope that this year 2018 the beaches and the cleanliness of the entire City will be at the height of such a beautiful fishing village that it was in its day.

  3. Francine poitou says:

Totally agree with Jose Luis, we also regret the bad condition of the beach of the Molins!
It has been totally abandoned this summer and unfortunately many people coming from 10 or 12 years will not come back and had a special affection for this beach! Like us.

  4. Alfred says:

Totally agree with all the comments. And to add a small note, they are not soulless people, they are people not qualified nor prepared to carry out the public work that they have managed to occupy. Mayors, councilors etc .. are for the public service not as feudal lords or caciques. What happens when in a company is plugged for management positions to people not qualified for being friends, acquaintances, relatives? Well, they can not properly exercise their work because they can not and can not do it. In the public it is the same. Just to see them as if they were superior beings, they are not! They are just people who really deserve to be in the line of unemployment by inept, letting qualified personnel do the work for the service of the people.

  5. ANDRES says:

Totally agree, a shame, I hope they fix it and do not repeat this absolute negligence, I am also owner in this same area and it is unacceptable q for the taxes we pay all year to enjoy the short time we can be in Denia la Beach east under these conditions

  6. Leon says:

    Friend jose luis
In case it works for you, surely not, the situation of abandonment is suffered in Denia in general and in many places in particular; Street will be an example of the desidea that we suffer.
It does not need rain to make it look like a third world
I would propose to pay a visit to the infected Ondara street so as not to come to live in Denia or leave as soon as possible of this third world city.
The neighbors of this street have the option of accessing their homes through this street infected, without lighting ... etc, or risk doing so crossing the Repsol gas station with the potential risk of accident in general and children and elderly in particular.
Only soulless people can let this situation not be resolved.
    Until when, Mr. Mayor?

  7. Jose Luis Llorente says:

I add to the opinion of this gentleman because I take 41 years in the Albatros urbanization and I see that the area of the hotel los angeles is cleaned and to the other side of the mouths of a river or acequia where the ferrer villas are built and my urbanization is not Clean smells bad as the algae corrupt. We pay taxes like the others but this council does not care about us.jose luis
