New "mini-ecoparks" in the streets of Dénia to encourage the habit of recycling

14 September 2022 - 18: 42

Dénia now has selective collection points in a reduced format so that citizens can recycle small solid waste for domestic use. Dénia City Council and Urbaser, the municipal solid waste collection and street cleaning concession company, have installed these "mini-ecoparks" in several streets of the municipality.

From coffee capsules to printer cartridges, plastic caps, glasses, batteries, light bulbs, telephones and chargers. All these common objects in any house have their indicated place for recycling in a kind of marquee designed to deposit this waste that can be reused.

With the aim of bringing selective collection closer to citizens and encouraging the habit of recycling, these elements optimize space on public roads, by allowing seven products to be collected in one place. In addition to the environmental advantages and the comfort that these points can provide to the public.

For now, they have been installed on the Paseo del Saladar, at the confluence of Patricio Ferrándiz with Carlos Sentí, in the Ronda de les Muralles with the Cid Avenue and in the Joan Fuster Avenue.

I think it's great that recycling is promoted by providing these amenities. But… all that glitters is not gold, I am tired of telling the city council that in the containers in front of San José Street No. 8, some restaurants on Loreto Street and more around, continue to deposit their containers full of glass and containers there. They do it every night, they've been doing it for a few years now, but once again, ignore it. Very sad
