Starting May 15, Dénia will host a new forum for cultural reflection, dialogue, and dissemination, launched by Cine Club Pessic and L'Esperança Coronada. Under the name "Koinós," a Greek term meaning "common, shared," according to the promoters, this series aims to enrich the cultural life of the city. the Marina Alta through free meetings dedicated to literature, science, and the arts.
The program will open with a dialogue with the Sevillian writer Isaac Rosa, author of renowned novels such as Safe place, The dark room, The land of fear o The vain yesterday, and will continue on June 5 with the intervention of the philosopher Carmen Madorrán, specialist in contemporary political and moral thought, and author of the essay Needs in the face of the ecosocial crisis: Thinking about the good life in the Anthropocene.
Each session will be led by the Dianense philosopher and writer Javier López Alós and will feature prominent figures in film, literature, music, science, and thought. The program seeks a balance between genres, ages, and careers, combining established names with emerging voices, especially those linked to the region.
"Koinós" will take place at the Dénia Public Library (C/ Sant Josep, 6), with free admission until capacity is reached. The conversations will be recorded in video and audio for later dissemination on social media, YouTube, and podcast platforms.
The initiative has the support of the Dénia City Council, the Alicante Provincial Council, and the Rafael Chirbes Foundation.
