The Socialists of Dénia promise bonuses to companies and families that help reduce the ecological footprint

26 2023 April - 14: 36

"Dénia is a city to live, to work and to invest, and this is demonstrated by the data", he pointed out Paco Roselló, current councilor for Economic Services of the socialist government of Dénia, who today presented at a press conference the economic proposals of the program for the elections on May 28.

With this starting point, the increase in the population census to 43.899 inhabitants (41.672 in 2014), the positive evolution of employment in the city (with an unemployment rate of 28% in 2014 and less than 15% in 2023 ) and the INE data on company creation (more than 4.600 today compared to 3.900 in 2014), Roselló has defended that "the socialist government team, over the last eight years, has carried out a series of actions that have led to this favorable situation on the economic level.

Among them, the reduction of the municipal debt by 13 million euros (from 30 million in 2014 to the current 17 million indebtedness) and employment policies, through local plans and calls from the Generalitat, which have allowed the hiring of 185 people with an economic cost of €2.400.000.

“But the most important action, without a doubt, was the response we gave in a pandemic, when people needed it most. A fundamental response to be able to be where we are today, despite the harshness of the crisis experienced. 5 million euros were managed in social aid and support for SMEs and the self-employed.

Social care was one of the priorities and "the figures speak for themselves": €360.000 in emergency aid to the most vulnerable people; €51.000 in school scholarships to cover the costs of the school canteen, schooling in the age group from 0 to 3 years and the purchase of textbooks; more than €80.000 in bonuses related to expenses associated with housing and in rental aid.

"Political responsibility and efficient management of public money are the only viable formulas to continue developing the progress policies that are transforming Dénia in all areas," Paco Roselló insisted. The same formula that has allowed the socialist government headed by Vicent Grimalt obtain 9 million euros from European Next Generation funds to continue investing in the city, with different projects related to its digital, intelligent and sustainable transformation.

The new program

And these aspects have an impact, precisely, on the economic section of the new program of the Socialists of Dénia, also made with proposals from the public.

Among the main economic measures, those that reward the commitment to reduce the ecological footprint: the reduction of rates in the Mercat and markets for those who do not use plastic and for companies that bet on the ecological vehicle (90% of the fleet); bonuses for green vehicles, photovoltaic installations and job creation will be increased; Through the Office of Strategies, a personalized service channel will be enabled for merchants on issues of training, digitization, economic and energy savings; and neighborhood activities based on local products will be promoted, among other measures.

Digitization is another of the strong points of the economic proposals, for example, the launch of a digital literacy service parallel to the promotion of the digital transformation of local commerce, with the direct help of the Office of Strategies and projects such as the ' marketplace' Dénia Online and a new app for the city's commerce and the digitization of the municipal Mercat.

For the promotion of employment and the creation of companies, work will be done to promote the collaborative economy between companies and workers and the creation of new businesses will be facilitated with the advice of the Office of Strategies and the improvement of financing through an agreement with the Valencian Institute of Finance.

Another of the projects in this area is the creation of the Dénia Activa office to develop employment policies and work especially for their labor insertion with groups such as the long-term unemployed and youth.

Finally, it is proposed to encourage commercial revitalization activities that already work with very positive results, such as the Nit de la Llum and expand them to other areas of the city. And, linked to the development of the university city, around the Torrecremada headquarters, the Jaume I shopping area will be promoted.

  1. Pere says:

The promises of these people are of little use. Like those of his leader, the famous Sanchinflas, who promised not to govern with the communists of Podemos, not to talk to the philoterrorists of Bildu and to tighten the bolts on the ERC coup leaders. And there we have them. Lie after lie of the PSOE.
