Doctors from all over the country have come out today to protest in front of their centers due to the lack of understanding with the Ministry of Health. Also in Dénia, where in front of the clinic the staff has announced the strike called by the CESM (State Confederation of Medical Unions).
A national strike that they assure will last until the minister, Salvador Illa, sits down to dialogue with them and they withdraw Royal Decree Law 29/2020, which they have described as "decree of infamy".
This is the first time in 25 years that a medical strike of these characteristics has been called, in order, on this occasion, to "Do not allow this or any other government to dismantle the Spanish Public Health Service".

This Tuesday, October 27, 2020, the doctors of this country are forced to start a national strike that no one knows how long it will last at a time of very serious pandemic for our country, with a Government to which we have reached out a thousand times and have rejected and with a Minister of Health who does not want or listen and who does not meet with the professionals who have to get the country out of the serious health situation in which it finds itself.
Today we doctors have to start a national strike that has not been called for 25 years, because we are not going to allow neither this nor any other government to dismantle the Spanish Public Health System. A strike that we did not want to start, and that this Government has had in its power to prevent. A government that has forgotten that in a democracy you have to dialogue and reach consensus, not impose, because in Medicine, we doctors apply what works, not what they impose on us. Today we doctors have to start a national strike because of what puts the health of all Spaniards at risk and is the biggest attack that has been perpetrated against the Spanish Public Health, the safety of patients and our rights even as workers.
Today the doctors started a national strike and warned that we will not stop until the Government and the Minister of Health withdraw Royal Decree Law 29/2020, decree of infamy, and solutions are given to the problems faced by patients and professionals in this Health. Today we started a national strike because we said Enough already !!
Mr. Salvador Illa, Mr. Pedro Sánchez; The duration of this national strike is in their hands, which with their continuous contempt for doctors they have provoked. Dialogue and seek solutions from consensus or we will not stop. No longer. Enough already !!
