November 13 from 2019 - 15: 33

Mayor, Vicent Grimalt, and the Councilor for Territory and Urban Quality, Maria Josep Ripoll, met yesterday with the president of the Business Circle of the Marina Alta (Cedma), Benito Mestre, and the members of the Territory and Sustainability Committee of the federation Jesús Reina, coordinator, Carlos Pesquera, of the Association of Tourist Promoters and Antonio Vargas Zurita, of the Association of builders and related companies. In this first contact, the municipal representatives were able to clarify one of the main concerns shown by entrepreneurs regarding legal aspects of licensing during the processing of the General Structural Plan.

In addition, the Councilor for Territory explained to the representatives of the federation what are the main points of the agenda of the government team in urban matters for this legislature. In the first place, the process for the approval of the General Structural Plan, currently in the environmental evaluation phase by the Ministry of Environment, is continued. It is also planned to start the processing of the detailed plan.

Likewise, the city government has designed a crash plan for 2020 that modernizes the Department of Urban Planning, providing it with more personnel and, therefore, increasing the speed of processing. Ripoll announced that, in addition, it is working on the formalization of an agreement with the College of Architects that also contributes to expedite the granting of urban planning licenses in the city.
Finally, another of the actions that will be worked on during this term is the elaboration of a new construction ordinance.

The Councilor for Territory will report on all these issues at the Town Planning Council meeting that will convene the first week of December.

From Cedma, the need to mark urban indicators was emphasized in order to make a diagnosis of the current situation and look for extrapolated objective data to know the evolution of the sector. At the same time, from the Business Circle the predisposition to collaborate with the city council was shown and they congratulated themselves on the possibility of reactivating the agreement with the College of Architects and, especially, for having clarified the existing doubts regarding the current regulatory application.
