January 30 from 2020 - 10: 26

A delegation from the Cercle Empresarial de la Marina Alta Headed by its president, Benito Mestre Caudeli, held a meeting on Tuesday with the general director of Urban Planning, Vicent Garcia Nebot, who was transferred various problems that the region suffers in different urban issues.

The meeting, requested after an agreement of the Board of Directors, served among other things to highlight the need to establish territorial planning for the Marina Alta from a more global and less fragmented perspective, so as to facilitate the optimization of resources and infrastructures. Thus, one of the main concerns of CEDMA is "lack of competitive industrial land in the region, whose most immediate consequence is the flight of investors and investments, which forces the search for joint solutions away from short-term".

The possibility of implementing new activities related to the circular economy and sustainable waste management was another issue raised as a strategy to allow the revaluation of resources and the economic revitalization of the Marina Alta. In this regard, CEDMA emphasized the fulfillment of the 2030 Agenda and the need to achieve the established SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), making public-private collaboration vital for this. From this perspective, various urban issues related to the procedures in process of several municipalities in the region were also addressed.

Finally, it was agreed by all those present that, in order to enhance the wealth creation capacity of the Marina Alta, it is crucial to address all the shortcomings that the region is currently experiencing, through what was called “Productive Urbanism ”And that it was defined as supra-municipal planning of specific actions aimed at promoting sustainable economic development.

In addition to Mestre and Garcia Nebot, at the meeting held at the General Directorate of Urban Planning they were also present on behalf of CEDMA, Mireia Server, Vega Torró, Fernando Tomás and Jesús Reina.
