The torrential rain that fell during the afternoon of Sunday in Dénia provoked important damages in the covered municipal pavilion of the municipal sports center. As happened in previous years, water again flooded its facilities.
Within the play field the water flooded all its surface with water and mud, which has made the facilities remain closed to begin the tasks of removal and cleaning of the mud. The City Council has appealed to the usual users of the facility not to attend, as they will be closed until the cleaning works are completed.
The location of this pavilion is not the most suitable to be built in the area of La Marjal, territory easy to flood given the conditions of the land. The fact that it is also next to one of the ravines means that when it overflows, the water ends up inside the installation itself.
So far all the works that have been done to prevent the pavilion from suffering damage have been useless. Whenever a rain fall falls, what has happened often happens.
At the moment the installation remains closed to users. In the morning, different classes for the elderly and in the afternoon for federated teams that have some competition this coming Saturday at the facility itself.
