Dénia green areas are filled with trees by schoolchildren in the municipality

Continuing with the commemoration of Tree Day, the Department of the Environment is carrying out several plantations in different green areas of Dénia, with schoolchildren of 6º of Primary as managers of the plantation.

After an audiovisual presentation about the importance of trees and the dangers and threats to which they are subject, they are shown ways of conservation and are disclosed some monumental trees of the municipality.

Since January 31 involved about 200 students were distributed by different green areas: students Paidos They went to the green area of ​​Ginjoler, Carmelitas and Alfa & Omega to the Aldebarán green zone, and Vessanes and Montgó to Torrecremada Park.

In total planted near 180 Mediterranean trees and native plants as cypress, hawthorn, carob, ash, cherry, myrtle, rosemary, lavender and other aromatic.

Other schools and other groups plantations will continue until the end of February, and will move to the area Raset to contribute to the environmental recovery of the ecosystem of the dunes.
