There is less left for lovers and practitioners from the world of athletics to enjoy the new Dénia athletics track. The works of conditioning and improvements to the track are progressing at a good pace and, despite the delay of a month accumulated by the COVID-19 crisis, the aspect it presents now is very advanced.
The new track is taking shape and it is planned that next week the works for the installation of the new pavement will begin. A material that has been brought directly from Italy and which is at the height of the best European facilities.
With eight lanes, the track is in compliance with the regulations required by the International Athletics Federation and the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation itself to obtain the approval that allows all kinds of championships to be held there. Dénia will be able to host provincial, regional, national and international championships.
One of the great novelties that the installation presents is the winch that has been put in the access door to the track, something very necessary that will help to control the access of the athletes and the perfect conservation of the same.
With this installation, the city of Dénia will once again be the venue during the winter season for some international athletes who have already been interested in the possibility of being able to use the track as a stage for their winter training. Athletes from the northern part of Europe can go to Dénia, so tourism through sport can be a new way of bringing economic activity to the city.
