The works of the Casa de la Marquesa Valero de Palma will start the September 11

The last work that remains of the Plan Confianza in Dénia already has a start date. The House of the Marquesa Valero de Palma, in Cavallers Street, 3, will begin to become the Museum of History of the City of Dénia next Tuesday, 11 in September. It is the date announced by the City Council for the start of the works, which have an estimated duration of 8 months.

These works are indoor and are made in a building located in a pedestrian area, so it is not expected to generate problems for neighbors. Even so, from the City Council have met this Wednesday at noon with the merchants in the area to tell them about some aspects that will affect them during the work.

The most important and annoying will be the entry and exit of vehicles, which will be made through Ramón y Cajal street. For this purpose, the City Council will coordinate the entry and exit times so that it does not affect the installation of tables and chairs on the public thoroughfare of the bars and restaurants on the road.

The merchants of the area have been satisfied with these works, and have requested a close collaboration between the affected parties.

For her part, the Councilor for Territory, Maria Josep Ripoll, has shown his satisfaction at the start of the work, which involves "recover municipal heritage" and that will turn the area into a cultural attraction for neighbors and visitors.

Interventions to be carried out

The building, located on Cavallers Street, number 3, requires an intervention to improve and improve the facilities. Due to the use, as well as to the years since its construction, various parts of the house are very deteriorated. Therefore, it is necessary to enable and adapt the facilities to the needs of the museum as well as to comply with current regulations and eliminate architectural barriers so that their new use is that of the Museum of the History of the City.

It is intended to make the new access to the museum from the street Ramón y Cajal, making a wrought at street level from which you can access the ground floor through a new staircase or elevator. The building consists of a semi-basement, ground floor, first floor, second floor and roof.

Budget and term

The works will be carried out by the company OBREMO SL for an amount of 493.961,99 euros and are financed by the Productive Investment Plan of the Generalitat Valenciana. The term of execution of the works is of 8 months. During the first weeks, it will act in the basement floor removing sanitary pipes, exterior carpentry and furniture, among other works, before proceeding to partition the space.
