The Moors and Christians Festivities begin with the delivery of city keys

The Parties Moors and Christians of 2019 are already here. Last night the official opening ceremony of this year's program took place, with the traditional raising of flags, delivery of the keys to the city and proclamation of the celebration, this year by Miguel Ángel Fullana.

The captains met in front of the Red Cross at the 20: 00 to parade until Glorieta from the Valencià Country. where they picked up the rest of the Moorish and Christian troops, ending their tour in the Plaza del Consell, where the authorities and neighbors who approached to witness the event were waiting.

This year's crier, Miguel Ángel Fullana, thanked Rafa Cheli his confidence in choosing him for such an honour. In addition, he took the opportunity to ask the City Council to fight to categorize the Moors and Christians of Dénia as a Festival of Tourist Interest, offering to work side by side with the government team to achieve that goal. "It would be a good gift for the 40th anniversary" of the party, which is celebrated next year.

After the proclamation, Vicent Grimalt He handed over the keys of the city to the president of the FEMMICC, Rafa Cheli, and the captains of this year asked for the flags to be raised, thus beginning the Fiestas.
