08 September 2021 - 07: 52

It is here on September 8. A date feared by some, but one that many others welcome with great enthusiasm. The return to the classroom is already a reality, starting the new school year in Dénia.

The 5.144 students In early childhood, primary and secondary education they meet again with their classmates and teachers on the first day of a course that brings some news, although they will have to live with old acquaintances such as the coronavirus.

During the presentation of the new school year, the Councilor for Education, Melani Ivars, He wanted to congratulate the teachers for the magnificent management of the health situation during the past year, stating that from the consistory they feel safe to continue advancing in the fight against the pandemic from the classrooms, showing their full confidence in those spaces .

A new course in which he has highlighted 6 keys to its development, between sanitary measures and novelties to improve the experience in educational centers. These are:

1. Stable coexistence groups

Last year, this measure was established with which small groups of students are formed with a reference tutor in order to avoid interaction with boys and girls from other groups. In this way, the possibility of a small coronavirus outbreak in one of the classrooms becoming a large-scale outbreak of an entire center is limited, allowing a single class to be confined in case of positive while the activity can continue without alterations in the rest of the school.

2. Adaptive safety distance

How to Live Aligned with the Councilor for Education announced a few days ago to this medium, the interpersonal distance between high school students will be adapted to the health situation of each moment. This course establishes four levels with which to identify what state each municipality is in with respect to the pandemic. Depending on the level at which they are, the students will have to comply with a safety distance of 1,2 or 1,5 meters, gaining space to regain normality a little.

3. The mask

It remains the primary defense against the pandemic and the most proven protection against the spread of the coronavirus. Although for a few months it has been allowed to dispense with the mask in outdoor spaces when interpersonal distance is guaranteed, in educational centers its use inside and outside the classrooms will continue to be mandatory from primary school onwards.

4. More cleaning

Keeping spaces constantly clean has also been shown to minimize the possibility of creating foci of infection. To achieve this, the City Council will once again have this course with an extra reinforcement in the cleaning staff at 4 hours in the mornings. In this way, the aim is to maximize the disinfection of sensitive spaces that teachers deem appropriate, such as railings or doorknobs.

5. Painting and renovations of the centers

A great job has been done this summer to rehabilitate the spaces that the students will use during this course. The painting work in buildings and classrooms stands out, which has involved changing the color of the Cervantes façade, changing the lights, repairing blinds, among other jobs. A whole set-up for the start of classes.

6. Zebra crossings adapted to children with ASD

This is the most striking and applauded measure in recent months. The City Council, with the collaboration of APROSDECO, have placed a series of pictograms on the zebra crossings near each school, in which children with autism spectrum disorder are reminded that they must stop and look both ways before crossing . This initiative will gradually expand through the rest of the streets of Dénia, according to the council, until all the pedestrian crossings are adapted to people with ASD.
