May 20 from 2022 - 09: 53

The XXV Ciutat de Dénia Award for the Training of Adults has gone to the Popular University of Valencia, an institution founded in 1903 by Blasco Ibáñez, whose purpose is, according to its regulations, "to promote social participation and the improvement of quality of life of the citizens of Valencia, through continuous education, socio-cultural animation and social intervention".

Among the reasons why it was decided to award the prize to the Popular University of Valencia, based on a proposal from the TAREPA-PV Adult Education Renewal Workshop and the Paulo Freire Institute, the fact that the institution " has stood out and will stand out in the vindication and promotion of Valencian permanent education and training: critical, active, popular, hard-working and citizen".

A task “that has contributed to the establishment of cooperation and complicity between the social and the public; that has created and strengthened relations as well as the creation of networks in the field of permanent education and popular culture in Valencia from an educational-cultural, ethical and sociopolitical dimension of education throughout life”.

The jury that has awarded the XXV Ciutat de Dénia Award for the Training of Adults is made up of Iolanda Corella, representing the Table of Social Agents for the Training of Adults; Encarna Such, representing the Association of Adult Participants Francesc Bosch and Morata de Xàtiva; Vicent Mas, director of the FPA center in Denia; Melani Ivars, Councilor for Education of the Dénia City Council and Raúl García de la Reina, Councilor for Dianense Culture, having as secretary the Culture technician, Maribel Font.
