This next weekend will be held in Dénia the "XIX Turkana Regatta", organized by Náutica Cork and Aproach Yachting. The Marina and Tourist Marina de Denia it will be the seat of the test.
Kiko Varella, responsible for Náutica Cork was the one who announced the test "faithful to our commitment to the Turkana people every year we invite all those who want to enjoy a weekend of sea and sport, collaborating at the same time with our cause".
Varella added that, "this edition we have posted the poster of no tickets. Our call has been a resounding success that in large part we owe to the organizers. They welcome the sailors and take care of every detail so that everyone can enjoy on board".
Finally, Varella recalled the way of life that exists in Turkana, "our dear Turkana will never be able to see the sea or sail on a sailboat. They live in their struggle for survival. Drinking, eating, curing your illnesses are your biggest challenges. But they sail with us because we always carry them in our hearts. For them this regatta".
The Director of Marina of Dénia, Gabriel Martínez, commented that, "We are very happy to be able to host this type of nautical events, so they mean help and support to people who are having a very bad time. And that is why we cede our facilities. It is a test that unites two of our most important values, the passion for the sea and social responsibility".
