The first heat wave of the year will put dianenses thermometers to 34 degrees this weekend

27 June 2019 - 00: 52

Dénia prepares to host the first heat wave of the season. Temperatures up to 34 maximum degrees will arrive in the coming days and will accompany us, according to the Meteorological Agency, until the July 1. However, it is not ruled out that the phenomenon can be extended after that date.

The wave officially arrived on the Peninsula this Wednesday, but it will not be until the weekend when Dénia sees its thermometers shoot up to exceed the maximum of 30ºC. Although the AEMET has announced temperatures higher than 40ºC in different parts of Spain, assures that "In coastal areas, due to maritime influence, temperatures will not reach such high values".

This wave of heat will be caused by a mass of continental tropical air that reaches the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands after an extensive tour of North Africa. It will be characterized by being very hot, dry and with dust in suspension. All this added to the strong insolation typical of these dates, will result in this long period of significantly high temperatures.
