The National Police seize 150 marijuana plants in a home in Dénia.

17 March 2025 - 11: 18

National Police officers have arrested two people in the Alicante town of Dénia for drug trafficking and electricity fraud. They were found to be growing 150 marijuana plants in their rented home.

The police investigation began after receiving information indicating a home in Denia was the possible location of an indoor marijuana plantation.

Officers from the Dénia Police Station's Judicial Police Brigade, in collaboration with the UDYCO (Urban Investigation Unit) of the Alicante Provincial Police Station, carried out various police checks to verify the accuracy of the information received.

During these checks, they discovered that the two residents of the house under investigation were two people, a man and a woman, who displayed unusual habits, as they kept the windows of the house tightly closed despite living there, and remained very vigilant when leaving the house.

Furthermore, the agents verified that the property had been rented to the suspects through a real estate agency, and that the suspects made the payments in cash to the real estate agency, claiming they did not have a bank account for documentation reasons.

As if this weren't enough, the officers detected high electricity consumption, far exceeding the typical consumption of a home inhabited by two people. This was a clear indicator that an indoor plantation was installed in the home.

Finally, the officers requested a search warrant from the judicial authorities, and then went to the home. The investigation concluded with the arrest of the two suspects for alleged drug trafficking and electricity fraud.

During the search, officers seized 150 marijuana plants spread across two rooms, 3.016 grams of marijuana ready for sale and consumption, and a large quantity of equipment used in the indoor facilities.

The detainees, a woman and a man aged 50 and 51 respectively, were brought before the on-duty investigating court in Denia.

Those who sell tobacco and alcohol, which are proven to be carcinogenic and destroy people, should stop selling because it goes against the public health of the country. In other words, if the state makes money, people don't matter at all. They live to see.
