The National Police detain a fugitive wanted in Denmark for sexually assaulting his minor daughter

Agents of the National Police have detained a fugitive in Benissa (Alicante) who had a European Detention and Surrender Order filed by the Danish authorities for crimes of sexual assault on his own minor daughter, serious injuries and child pornography.

The police investigations began last June, when the request for his extradition became known for having pending a sentence of twelve years in prison in Denmark for sexual assault and serious injuries carried out, allegedly, against his own biological daughter when he was under twelve years old. He was also convicted of possession of child pornography.

The attacks took place between 2006 and 2010 in both Iceland and Denmark. The fugitive, with the use of violence and intimidation, forced the minor to have sexual relations on approximately ten occasions. To overcome the resistance imposed by the girl, he beat her on some occasions, kicking her body and head and hitting her with various household objects, causing serious injuries.

The arrest took place in the town of Benissa (Alicante) where a technical police control and surveillance device was established over the areas frequented by the fugitive. After several days of investigation and numerous surveillance, his presence was detected in the vicinity of his home and he was arrested.
