The largest table in the world will return to the Marineta de Dénia: this will be the return of D * na to its origins

14 September 2022 - 13: 06

Less than a month to go before the Marineta Cassiana of Dénia the bustle reigns again. But, on this occasion, a bustle that is appreciated. The D * na Festival returns to its origins with that "largest table in the world" that will serve as the claim of this edition. A new occasion, bigger and bigger, to enjoy the best product and the best cuisine, with the best views: our Mediterranean.

This year's D*na Festival, which will be the third to be held with this format, seeks to recover the essence of the most massive event in the city, which has suffered several years of fallow and reinventions until it can recover its essence. An edition that was presented on Wednesday morning in Valencia, at the Llisa Negra restaurant in Quique Dacosta, gastronomic curator of the event. The chef, the most visible face of the festival, has been in charge of presenting the new edition together with the mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, and the regional secretary of Tourism, Francesc Colomer.

Go back to the origins, highlighting the stage that makes this festival unique: the Marineta Cassiana. And although its essence, as we said, is maintained, some changes stand out that make the position of the event and the organization clear for the future.

back to the essence

Once again, the D*na will have an endless number of stalls where you will see part of the gastronomic offer of Dénia and the Marina Alta. In the center, there will be a small stage in which a series of workshops for all ages will be held (some of them focused on the little ones) and in which promising chefs will participate, as defined by Dacosta. A space for those chefs who do not yet have their own restaurants to make themselves known, who are left with this space so that, in turn, it can serve as a preparation for the great stages that await them in the future.

Of course, the main stage located at the end of the promenade will be maintained, through which so many familiar faces have passed in previous editions. And here is the main change and which is a disruption with respect to what we knew.

A festival that will not only look at the stars and suns

The intention of the festival, according to Dacosta in the presentation, is to gradually dispense with the Michelin Stars and Repsol Soles, to promote small projects that do not enjoy the endorsement of these awards, but do deserve to be heard for what they have to contribute. . There will be names, of course. Chefs of the stature of Diego Guerrero, Mario Sandoval and the Morán will have space. But he will embrace, above all, those projects worth telling, and "not just look at the stars and suns."

In front of everything that has been said, of course, a table of more than half a kilometer with views of the Marineta beach and our Mediterranean Sea. Table that serves as a claim, and this has been made clear with the advertising spot in video format that has been shown during the presentation.

On the weekend of October 1 and 2, therefore, the true D*na Festival returns to turn Dénia into the gastronomic capital of the country. As Vicent Grimalt stated in the presentation: «We are the envy of many cities for being able to hold this event, with these people, in this place».

Very good but the road to the marinas is still a mess. Without sidewalks with the danger of being caught by a colle, steps from the streams with bars with the consequent danger of a child falling, etc. That for when. It'll only be fixed if we get it on TV.

The largest table in the World World, fixed Guinness record. How important we feel while the real hotel industry has to close for not being able to cope with the current economic situation. But as long as there are public subsidies to pay for this type of «event» that against the wine that they also pay us.

  4. Paco Port says:
