The 'pelagia noctiluca' jellyfish reaches the beaches of Dénia

This morning at 11:50 the Dénia City Council has alerted of the presence of Jellyfish at different points along the Dianense coast. This type of jellyfish It is also known as luminescent, since at night it radiates a phosphorescent light.

This species is pink in color and has eight tentacles, which have 10.000 stinging cells per centimeter, producing a painful and intensely itchy bite.

At the moment it is reported that the amount is not alarming and the lifeguard service will raise a yellow flag in the beaches as a precaution.

    The beaches are shitty dirty. What a difference from the beaches when I came to spend the summer here years ago!
