Last Friday, December 11, the Fallera Mayor de Dénia, Safir Malonda, accompanied by the 3rd Vice President, Juan Ots Llácer, attended the events to commemorate the IV Anniversary of the Declaration of the Fallas as Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO organized by the Fallera Central Board. For this, JCF prepared a series of acts and events, adapting them to the health circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, some of them digitally through social networks.

"Nowadays, we relate heritage to tangible things, occupying a physical place capable of being touched and visible. Well, we Valencians are used to seeing the routine of our towns and cities change for a few days. We remember in our memories the great masterpieces devoured by the flames of the fire, reduced to ashes and, with this, we welcome in the spring ", they point from the Local Board Fallera Denia.

We are in a year where faults have not been materially constructed, which is why human tissue is more important than ever. "We intend to vindicate this immaterial and immortal heritage of the festival, representing the value of the ties that unite us, through our trades and our ways of life that protect and care for us in difficult times".

"Because we are the result of a concrete ancestral knowledge, of a concrete way of understanding life, and only by protecting and caring for us, the material will be able to rise again from the ashes, receiving the new season that precedes the freezing winter and it will be because the intangible and immortal heritage will have remained year after year "adds the JLF.
