The Alicante Provincial Court will hold the trial next Monday, March 17, with continuation on the 18th, against a man accused of committing two sexual assault offenses in Dénia in September 2022. The Prosecutor's Office is seeking a 17-year prison sentence.
According to the Public Prosecutor's Office, the incident occurred on the night of September 2, when the defendant and the victim met at a local nightclub. After engaging in conversation and consuming alcoholic beverages, the defendant suggested that the woman accompany him to the bathroom to use cocaine. The prosecution maintains that, at that moment, the victim was in a dazed state and impaired by alcohol consumption. Once in the bathroom, the defendant allegedly had sexual relations with her despite her express refusal.
Later, according to the Prosecutor's Office, the man returned with his friends and dropped the victim off at the nightclub, later offering to walk her home. During the trip, he allegedly took her to an underground parking lot, where he violently sexually assaulted her again. As a result of the incident, the woman suffered injuries that required 15 days of recovery and psychological treatment.
The trial will be held in the Second Section of the Alicante Provincial Court starting at 10:00 a.m.
