14 December 2018 - 09: 19

With close to 5.000 visits, the exhibition Dénia, war temps and repressió, 1936-1939, it has surpassed above the average of the exhibitions that can be visited throughout the year in the Center d'Art L'Estacio.

Between the 26 of October and the 2 of December the exhibition has been visited by 4.497 people, a number that "compensates the great effort made from the archive in its planning and assembly", has highlighted the municipal archivist, Rosa Seser.

There have been many novelties that have aroused the public's interest in the show. The list of the 3.000 combatants near Dénia, with their destinations, has been a mandatory stopping point for many of the visitors, who searched among the names of their relatives. On the other hand, the city of Dénia at war has been shown through 15 large format panels, with texts and images, original documents and objects that have allowed the visitor to faithfully recreate that era.

This exhibition was part of the program Fem Memòria. Dénia, war and repressió, which has included in its first part two guided tours, a cycle of conferences, acts of homage to dianenses victims of Nazism and to the victims of the bombings that the city suffered during the Civil War, events that have been very well received by the public.

The project "Fem Memòria. Dénia, guerra i repressió "will focus its second part on the publication and presentation of publications History and memory. The Civil War to Dénia and Brigadistes. Les Brigades Internacionals i el seu servei sanitari to Benissa i Dénia, 1936-1939, which will be presented next year.
