The Diputación gives green light (finally) to the remodeling of Pare Pere, Tenor Cortis and Valgamediós

The remodeling of Pare Pere Street and the Tenor Cortis and Valgamediós de Dénia squares will be, finally, a reality. These works, with charge to the Provincial Council of Alicante, will be approved in the plenary session that the provincial organism celebrates this Thursday, 23 of May, after having been denied in two occasions.

After the hacienda commission held on Monday, 20 in May, the file regarding the modification of credits of the Diputación was approved to activate the financially sustainable works that were not executed last year, among them, Dénia.

Thus, the last plenary session of the legislature of the Diputación de Alicante will approve an amount of 487.500 euros for the redevelopment of the Valgamediós and Tenor Cortis squares and Pare Pere street.

The project, with a total budget of 750.000 euros, contemplates a Pare Pere street that will maintain its current appearance, but renewed. The curbs are recovered at the original height, nonexistent at present, a new pavement will be installed and it will be resurfaced. In addition, the four rainwater that currently exist in the Tenor Cortis plaza will be relocated to improve water evacuation and avoid accumulation on rainy days.

The Tenor Cortis square will be free of cars, which can not be parked. Cobblestone or a more noble material will be installed and urban furniture is proposed as benches, bins and planters to recover the square for people.

The work in Plaza Valgamediós will consist of freeing the central area of ​​parked vehicles and maintaining the existing traffic circulation.
