21 2023 April - 12: 51

- Vicent Grimalt has shelled this morning the program of the PSPV Dénia facing the 28M in terms of equality and inclusive policies. The new mayor has surrounded himself with his companions Javier Scotto, current Councilor for Equality, Melani Ivars, current Councilor for Social Welfare, and Raquel Martín, one of the new inclusions on the list for the upcoming elections. In the appearance, they have also reviewed all the projects that have been undertaken and strengthened in the municipality during the last legislature.

"The transversality of equality, diversity, inclusion and social justice policies have been present in the 8 years", Vicent Grimalt mentioned in the government's presentation on diversity and equality. The mayor and socialist candidate has stressed that "equality, diversity, inclusion and social justice are and will always be the center of the policies of the Socialists of Dénia."

Javier Scotto, current councilor for equality and diversity and candidate number 5, has highlighted the success of the municipal equality policies carried out during his government. Scotto has mentioned the approval of the II Internal Equality Plan of the Dénia City Council and the implementation of the III PIO, achieving a satisfactory evaluation, despite the pandemic. He has also highlighted the implementation of municipal spaces free of gender violence and the Holiday program inclusive, which has received an award from the Ministry.

For her part, Melani Ivars, councilor for inclusive policies and number 6 of the socialist candidacy, mentioned the launch of campaigns against prostitution and trafficking, adherence to the network of cities free of prostitution and trafficking, actions against sexual assaults at parties and nightlife, and family reconciliation programs and aid for dependencies in the social welfare area.

In the economic and occupational field, Raquel Martín, candidate number 10, has reviewed other equality measures that have been transversal in this legislature, such as municipal employment plans, egalitarian and with positive discrimination in the case of equal scores.

The future of Dénia and the IV PIO

Javier Scotto has outlined the two main objectives of the socialist government program from 2023 to 2027: the execution of the IV Equality Plan and the construction of the Espai Dona de Dénia, a center that brings together all the current services aimed at women and increases other services comprehensively in the same space.

Regarding the IV PIO, they promise the elaboration of a guide or resource tool for women; training for teachers and students in terms of equality, both for children, primary and secondary; review of non-sexist municipal resources, and inclusive language; campaigns to raise awareness and promote sports by and for women; promote equality in the business sphere, including protocols against discrimination and sexist attacks; at parties, they will continue with equality actions with the main groups; training in new masculinities; continuation of prevention and security by the Artemis unit; and the collaboration with the Ministry of Justice in the implementation of the Court of Gender Violence and all its services while the extension of the Palace of Justice is carried out.

Espai Dona

Regarding the Espai Dona de Dénia, Scotto explained that they will begin the negotiations for the creation of this building that concentrates and increases public services for women. "A space for assistance, security and care for women and victims of violence, but also a cultural, educational, training, and creative space for and by women," she assured.

It is one of the most striking projects of the program presented, because in addition to being a refuge for victims of different types of violence or for assistance, it will offer resources so that the women of Dénia can train and undertake their projects, with rooms dedicated to exhibitions and even places where they can work. The location is still a mystery, since they have yet to find a construction that adapts to these many needs, since, for example, it requires more than one entrance, some of them for the access of sensitive users who require their efforts as much as possible. privacy.

Scotto has assured that Dénia, this last legislature, "has established itself as a benchmark for sexual diversity, the fight against discrimination and hatred in the province of Alacant and in the region of La Marina Alta». "Dénia has a plan, a plan for diversity, a pioneer in the province", highlighted the socialist councilor.

The PSPV will seek allies in the business fabric to promote diversity

The PSPV Dénia candidates have explained the diversity measures for the next four years: the development of training programs for the City Council staff in diversity; training for teachers and students, with special attention to adolescents, the promotion of the creation of materials, inclusive forms, that recognize the diversity of families; the Eros unit, as well as the dissemination of resources available to victims of discrimination; in the area of festivities, they will encourage the JLF and the FEMMICC to carry out actions in terms of diversity, which manage to involve all the failures and rows. The latter are actions, they say, aimed at making diversity visible in the festive world and promoting the inclusion of all.

But the socialists also seek to educate the business fabric of Dénia, encouraging companies to get involved in actions on diversity with information, training and awareness actions, creation of diversity clauses in hiring, creation of inclusive forms, establishment of protocols of action and promoting the creation of diversity plans in schools and companies.

Queer Destination

Javier Scotto explained that one of the most outstanding projects will see the light of day from 2023 to 2027, in addition to the commitment to expanding the Pride celebration based on the history, culture and music of the LGTBI+ collective: the birth of the QUEER DESTINATION tourist program . It is a program aimed at the international positioning of Dénia as an LGTBI+ destination, guaranteeing an LGTBI+ tourist experience, and which will have all the economic and social agents of the city, who have already shown their interest and participation. «The hospitality of Dénia will be found in its diversity».

In short, Scotto has stressed: "we want a diverse Dénia that does not wonder where we come from, who we love or who we pray to."
