The Minister of Universal Health and Public Health, Ana Barceló, has confirmed that there is a "principle of agreement" to reverse the health of the Department of Health of Dénia before the elections.
As explained by the Consellera during a press conference on donations and organ transplants in the Community, they are currently working to finish the pending settlements with the concession, which according to the Consellera, "had not been made since the beginning of the concession". Barceló said they hope to have them finished "at the end of January or beginning of February" and that, once liquidated, they will close the agreement with the two companies that form the UTE, Ribera Salud and DKV.
This would mean being able to revert healthcare to the public sector before the elections next May, as the president of the Generalitat assured months ago, Ximo Puig.
The reversion to the public of the Dénia health department, which covers the Marina Alta, is an intention of the government of Ximo Puig since he governed, in 2015. Barceló's predecessor in office, Carmen Montón, began the process that, if everything continues as announced by the Ministry, would be very close to ending.
