The Minister of Justice, Interior and Public Administration, Gabriela Bravo, has announced that her department will once again demand from the Ministry of Justice the creation of a court of First Instance for Dénia. This judicial body will be the number 6 of the judicial party of the capital of the Marina Alta.
Gabriela Bravo has visited on Tuesday the facilities of the judicial headquarters accompanied by the dean of the courts of Dénia, María Luisa Fayos, who has informed that during the first quarter of 2020 work will begin for the comprehensive renovation of air conditioning systems and lighting of the Palace of Justice of the Plaza Jaume I of the town. These projects will involve an investment of 340.000 euros, of which 250.000 will be used for air conditioning and the other 90.000, for the replacement of all lighting installations.
As explained by the Minister Bravo, the creation of the Court of First Instance number 6 of Dénia "It is a need that cannot be postponed for a longer time and, therefore, we are going to claim it again from the Ministry of Justice, since the workload of this judicial headquarters, especially in civil jurisdiction, fully justifies this request".
To Bravo, «In the same way that, from the Ministry of Justice, we have already claimed the creation of this court twice, we will do it a third and all that is needed until it becomes a reality».
In this sense, Bravo recalled that the creation of this judicial body was approved in 2011, but its constitution was without effect because the Generalitat - then the responsibility of the Popular Party - resigned to launch it.
In addition, Bravo has ensured that this request for a new court «Is shared with the High Court of Justice» because "of the almost 170.000 people who must be served by this court, the 40 percent are foreigners, with the complexity that this entails and especially in civil jurisdiction."
The Minister of Justice has also indicated that the building of the Plaza de Jaume I «It is prepared to house another court, which would be fully operational in a very short time, as we have shown this year». In this regard, Bravo has explained that the Department of Justice has only needed between five and eight months to launch the last nine judicial bodies approved by the Ministry of Justice last April.
Thus, the next 30 of September will enter into service the exclusive dean court of Alicante and the Criminal Court number 19 of Valencia, as well as the Magistrate Square for the Provincial Court of Alicante based in Elche. The October 30 will be the turn of the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 6 of Sagunto and that of the Criminal 4 of Elche. On the other hand, the November 30 will be operative the court of First Instance number 6 of Gandía and, finally, the December 30 will be the turn of the Court of First Instance number 29 of Valencia, the First Instance number 14 of Alicante and the one of First Instance number 5 of Torrevieja.
Regarding the facilities of the judicial headquarters of Dénia, Bravo has stressed that, during the last year, «The most urgent actions have been carried out, such as the repair of some deficiencies in bathrooms and other units and the adequacy of underground access. The cameras and security and surveillance systems against theft, fire and intrusion have also been completely renewed, as well as the connection of all these devices with the Valencia Control Center ». These actions have meant an investment of 37.597 euros.
However, as explained by the Minister of Justice, «Next year the major projects for the improvement of this judicial headquarters will be undertaken not only with the renovation of the air conditioning and lighting systems, but will also be used for the integral repair of minor construction pathologies, such as cracks, cracks and dampness that the building has, as well as the authorization of the offices of the Psychosocial Cabinet ».
«In short, in the next year we will undertake a whole series of projects so that the citizens of the judicial party of Dénia have the courts they deserve, with the plant they need and the services they need, since if during the previous legislature we carry out the urgent, now we will realize the irreversible », concluded Gabriela Bravo.
